Thank you for stopping by.
Well, I’ve decided I need a life and more than that some adventure. My name is Shyrene and I am an eighth generation Floridian. To be quite honest I cannot stand the cold, sorry to those who love it, Ifreeze at less than 78 degrees. As some who loves Florida (best state in the world) I decided to get to know it a little better. There is so much to do in Florida besides the normal tourist traps. Don’t get me wrong, I love Disney World and all our other mediums of entertainment but it’s always nice to be able to enjoy the natural elements of this state. Besides, Ponce DeLeon didn’t call it “Florida” due to the lack of beautiful foliage we have here.
Florida is full of sunshine and natural beauty not to mention the rich history we have. Don’t forget Florida has the oldest city in the US. Older than Jamestown and Plymouth. Can you guess what is it? St. Augustine, of course. My goal is to spend my weekends becoming better acquainted with this state I live in. I plan on visiting different cities throughout the state and seeing and learning about what make them special and unique. For example, I recently went to the Sanford Museum, coincidently in Sanford, FL where I live. While there I learned that Neil Smith invented the first riding lawn mower which was called “Snappin’ Turtles” and had a cute little turtle head on the tip. The original owner of Snapper lawn mowers bought the patents to this lawn mower and this is where the name Snapper came from. Ain’t that cool? All this right in little Sanford, FL.
I look forward to sharing my adventures with you and hopefully you will learn something interesting about where you live as well. If you have any suggestions for places I should go or any comments by all means post them. I love to hear what you have to say. God Bless and enjoy.
